What is HHCp distillate?
HHC otherwise known as the cannabinoid Hexahydrocannabinol, has been exploding in popularity over the last few years. In 1947 American chemist Roger Adams successfully synthesized HHC using Delta 9 THC from the cannabis plant. He was able to add hydrogen molecules to Delta 9 THC in a process called hydrogenation. This process is still used in the manufacturing of many processed foods we still eat today.
Given the immense popularity of HHC, chemists have been finding ways to hydrogenate other cannabinoids. One recent example is THC acetate, which was turned into the even more potent THC p.
THC p is a cannabinoid that was discovered in 2019 alongside CBDP, two alt cannabinoids that have 7 carbons in their side chain at a molecular level. Both of these cannabinoids were found by Italian scientists that were analyzing a medicinal cannabis strain known as FM2. Scientists were extremely curious on how the potency of THC-p stacked up against Delta 9 THC, so they decided to do a study on mice. The study found that THC p was 33 times more active than Delta 9 THC against CB1 receptors. Yes, 33 times stronger than your favorite marijuana strain.
Does HHCp distillate get you high?
The same principle process has been applied to HHC to form HHCp. While HHCp tends to be stronger than Delta 9 THC, it’s not as strong as THC p. Everyone has a different reaction to cannabinoids based on their receptors. It’s always best to consume small doses and increase dosage as needed. You can always take more, but you can’t take less. Go slow, this stuff is strong.
